Flamenco Artist

Tonje Lieberg is among the very few norwegian flamenco dancers working on a professional level with live performances in Norway and internationally. Tonje danced ballet from the age of 5 - 18 before discovering flamenco. In 2005 she went on a tour with the norwegian flamenco guitarist Bettina Flater, as a dancer in the production ‘Ella’. In 2007 she was invited by Stiftelsen Horisont (Melafestivalen) to participate in a collaboration with the well known Qawalli singer Sher Miandad Khan in Lahore, Pakistan. She has since performed in Norway, Spain, Sweden, Latvia, Ecuador and Holland in diverse festivals and on television. Tonje holds vast international experience as a performer and instructor and frequently gives workshops in different palos (styles) of flamenco dance. Tonje Lieberg also has profound experience in organizing artistic events and holds a Masters degree in The History of Arts, with the art of Edvard Munch as a specialisation.
